All main political parties in Pakistan have come to an agreement on the 26th constitutional amendment, which focuses on judicial reform and public interest. This is a significant development for the country’s legal environment.
Tuesday night’s meeting between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) officials and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, reinforced the deal.
A conversation with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umra afterwards verified a cooperative approach to the suggested modifications.
The leaders of the three major parties as well as a few smaller parties have stated that they are in total accord with the constitutional revisions and that their objectives will not be changed by the creation of a Federal Constitutional Court or Federal Constitutional Bench.
