At the age of 54, record executive and music producer Irving “Irv Gotti” Lorenzo passed away.
Def Jam Recordings, where Gotti was an executive and the parent business of Murder Inc. when it was created, announced his passing. Gotti helped launch the music careers of Ashanti, DMX, and Ja Rule.
The statement further stated, “Def Jam Recordings and the extended Def Jam family of artists, executives, and employees are deeply saddened at the loss of Irv Gotti.”
Numerous accounts claim that he had been battling diabetes for years, which exacerbated his declining health.
According to reports, after a week of being unconscious and on life support, he had a stroke and was pronounced dead on February 5, 2025.
