Details of the straightforward but significant custom that Sutton Foster and Hugh Jackman followed while costarring in the Broadway adaptation of The Music Man have been made public.
In a 2022 interview that was re-discovered on Live With Kelly and Ryan, the actress disclosed that she and Jackman engaged in a regular pre-show custom they dubbed “carpet chat.”
Foster clarified this by saying, “We would just catch up in my dressing room before every show.” We ended up sitting on the carpet somehow, most likely due to the disarray in my dressing room, but it ended up being this amazing moment.
She added that the ceremony served as a means of connecting and made the two “really good friends.”
