A judge in Barcelona has decided that Hugo Mallo, who was playing for Celta Vigo at the time, caressed her breasts inappropriately as she was dressed as a parrot for rival team Espanyol.
Before kickoff in 2019, the incident happened as the football players lined up.
The judge fined Mallo, 33, €6,000 (£5,000) and mandated that he pay the victim €1,000 (£843) in damages. In addition, he will be responsible for the proceedings’ legal fees.
Judge Salvador Roi Tejedor reportedly stated in his decision, citing Spanish media reports: “Upon reaching the height of the victim.
the same, stroked her breasts with his hands hidden beneath the costume, causing the victim to recoil and use her right hand to push the accused away.”
Mallo, who currently plays for the Greek team Aris, has stated that he intends to appeal the sentence and has maintained his innocence.
He also posted a video of the event to Instagram.
