The Peshawar district government has declared that hunting ducks and geese (murghabi) is prohibited, with immediate effect and a duration of November 2024.
The purpose of this decision is to safeguard these birds from any injury during their migration season and to maintain their population.
The administration made it clear in an official statement that it is totally forbidden to hunt ducks and geese, as well as to transport and trade these species. The action is a component of continuous initiatives to protect the area’s wildlife and ecologically sound operations.
Authorities have issued a warning, threatening severe legal consequences for anyone caught breaking this prohibition.
