Sabrine Zanoun, 44, said she was overcome by the range of emotions shortly after she got back to her house in a wealthy neighborhood in northern Gaza.
“We are glad to see our loved ones once more. However, the demolished homes and debris are also so heartbreaking that they bring tears to your eyes,” she said on the news.
Because of the stunning surroundings, people would come here just to take a stroll. Most of it is now in ruins.
On Monday, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who had been displaced returned to their homes or the rubble that formerly stood in northern Gaza, including Sabrine.
The mass return occurs one week after Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement intended to put an end to the conflict, which started more than 15 months ago.
