TEXAS: At the request of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a delegation from Pakistan met for several hours with Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who has been incarcerated in the United States for over a decade.
Senators Bushra Anjum and Talha Mahmood, as well as psychiatrist Dr. Iqbal Afridi, attended the three-hour-long discussion, which was held at the US prison where Dr. Aafia is incarcerated.
The Pakistani scientist told the delegation about her experiences in prison during the discussion, according to Senator Bushra. However, the congressman stated that Dr. Aafia expressed faith in God’s kindness and desire for justice.
The Pakistani researcher was found guilty of attempted murder and violence against a US in 2010 and received an 86-year prison sentence.
