On the last day of his trial, Björn Höcke, a prominent member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, is scheduled to appear in court in Halle.
He is accused of intentionally employing a Nazi catchphrase at a demonstration in 2021, which is illegal in Germany.
During the AfD event in May 2021, Höcke allegedly used the phrase “Alles für Deutschland” (everything for Germany).
The term refers to the paramilitary SA or Storm Troopers, also called the Brownshirts, who are part of the National Socialist party.
They were crucial to the ascent of Adolf Hitler.
