DUBAI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials’ absence from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final ceremony in Dubai has prompted the International Cricket Council (ICC) to provide clarification.
After Geo News contacted the ICC for comment on the issue, the explanation was released.
Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB Management Committee and the host board’s appointed delegate, was invited to the ceremony but chose not to go, according to an ICC spokesperson. According to the spokeswoman, “Mr. Naqvi was unavailable and did not travel to Dubai for the final.”
The ICC emphasized its established procedures for award ceremonies in response to complaints on the absence of Pakistani presence on stage.
