According to sources who spoke to Geo News on Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been formally asked to provide a written explanation to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for its decision to deny a Champions Trophy 2025 tour to Pakistan.
After the BCCI informed the ICC verbally that it would not be attending the mega-event in Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asked the ICC to send a copy of India’s written response, the sources continued.
According to the regulations, they stated, the Indian board would need to give good reason for not participating in the competition within the nation.
“If Pakistan receives a written response, it may look for strong evidence to back up its claims.”
