In an interview with the conservative US publication Newsmax, Trump appeared to hint that it would happen if he were elected president once more.
“It’s a terrible precedent for our country,” stated the 77-year-old. Does that imply the next president treats them in the same way? Actually, it is the question.
He continued: “So, you know, it’s a terrible, terrible path that they’re leading us to, and it’s very possible that it’s going to have to happen to them.”
Following a five-week trial in New York, Trump was found guilty last week of fabricating corporate records.
The former president concealed a $130,000 (£102,000) payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels as part of a “hush money” plot to suppress information he believed would harm his candidacy for president in 2016.
Before the jury unanimously convicted him guilty of all 34 counts against him, he made numerous baseless assertions during the prosecution procedures, claiming without proof that they were rigged against him.
In the run-up to the election on November 5, Trump has made repeated references to pursuing his political adversaries, according to News. He has even brought up the possibility of bringing criminal charges against President Joe Biden.
