Today was Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s last day of Supreme Court hearings, during which he heard arguments in ten different matters.
The panel, which consisted of Justices Shahid Bilal and Naeem Akhtar Afghan, decided four of the cases during the court sessions, while six others were postponed for further review.
A major change in the court’s leadership occurred when the Chief Justice concluded his duties and judicial officials announced that there was no cause list for tomorrow’s sitting. Attorney Farooq Malik acknowledged the end of an era in the Supreme Court and wished Chief Justice Isa well.
Chief Justice Isa responded with sincerity, saying, “If there is life, I will meet you tomorrow,” demonstrating his dedication to the law.
