During an interview with Interview magazine’s Nikki Glaser, Lopez disclosed that her team had warned her that serving as a judge on “American Idol” would end her career as a movie star.
They’re wanting me to do reality TV after I completed all these major motion pictures and records, Lopez remarked. “I’ve had children and haven’t worked in a few years. At the time, “American Idol” was a popular program.
“Really comes down to, what do I think I can bring to something?” she stated as her deciding factor.
Jennifer Lopez thinks that God struck her “over the head with a f—ing sledgehammer” in order to take Ben away.
However, “all of my advisors told me not to do this because I would only end up as a reality celebrity.
For a total of five seasons, Lopez judged the show. She initially took Simon Cowell’s place in 2011 during the 10th season. She came back for seasons 11 and 12 the following year, and for the final three seasons in 2014.
The “Hustlers” actress recalled that it was despised and that she had been warned “Don’t do that or nobody will ever hire you for a movie ever again.”
