One royal expert told News that Meghan Markle would be known as “Princess Henry” if she lost her title, although that is unlikely to happen.
The To Di for Daily podcast host, Kinsey Schofield, stated that it would require more than just a decision from the House of Windsor to deprive the Sussexes of their royal titles.
“A lot of us feel like Harry and Meghan take advantage of their titles and would like to see them stripped of them, but that’s not a conversation that has happened between King Charles and Prince William in years,” said Schofield.
Following the publication of the bombshell book, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s royal titles may be revoked by a UK lawmaker.
In theory, Harry and Meghan would become Prince and Princess Henry if they lost their title as Duke and Duchess—Charles and William are aware of this. One cannot take away the prince title. Harry was born with that right. It would take an act of Parliament and that is simply not a priority for them at this time.”
“You will still see Harry and Meghan utilizing the prince and princess titles, which are almost more marketable in the United States,” Schofield stated.
Shortly after Majesty Magazine editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward told The Royal Beat that it is doubtful the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will lose their royal titles, Schofield made her remarks.
