Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s adviser on political and public affairs, stated Thursday that the current administration would not object if the court freed Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, who is currently in jail.
The move coincides with the PTI, the main opposition party, preparing for a nationwide protest drive following Eidul Fitr against what the former ruling party claimed was a “stolen mandate” to reinstate the Constitution and the rule of law as the supreme law and to free political prisoners in the nation.
