A public appeal for information regarding the alleged rape of a student at a college in Lahore last week has been issued by model and makeup artist Nadia Hussain. Following widespread social media coverage of the incident at the Punjab Group of Colleges campus in Lahore, authorities detained a campus security guard and opened an inquiry. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has now called the event a “fabricated story,” sparking widespread student protests at PGC campuses.
Hussain posted a video on Tuesday, featuring ASP Shehrbano Naqvi, asking people to hold off on disseminating false information that would put the family through unnecessary stress. This comes after the girl’s father also denied any sexual assault allegations.
