ISLAMABAD: Senior puisne judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, who was appointed chief justice by Justice Yahya Afridi under the 26th Constitutional Amendment, is not considering to resign, according to those close to the Supreme Court.
Prior to his junior replacing him, certain media sites said that Justice Mansoor was told to retire, according to The News.
Claims that Justice Yahya, the chief justice-elect, encouraged him to step down during their in-chamber discussion were denied by the sources. “Total lie, nothing like that happened,” the source stated, denying the gossip.
This scribe was informed by those close to Justice Mansoor that he would not be resigning from his position when he was asked if he would continue to serve as a Supreme Court judge.
