Usman Riaz Gul, Bushra Bibi’s attorney, stated from the beginning of the hearing that the Chief Commissioner’s notification about her removal to Bani Gala was unlawful and ought to be revoked.
He argued that she was violated by the transfer because it was made without her permission.
The government attorney retorted that security issues at Adiala Jail were the reason the former first lady was moved to Bani Gala. Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb, however, voiced doubt, wondering how someone’s property could be used against their will to create a prison.
The judge also made the observation that Bushra Bibi’s housing in Bani Gala appeared prearranged, raising the possibility that the transfer was made for other reasons.
