At the next hearing in the new Toshakhana case, Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his wife Bushra Bibi are probably going to be charged.
A makeshift court in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail hosted the hearing for a fresh Toshakhana lawsuit against the former first lady and the imprisoned PM.
The couple also received copies of the charge sheet, or challan, that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had filed with the court.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was prohibited from pursuing the case, and the case was moved to the Financial Institutions Authority (FIA) in accordance with the Supreme Court’s decision restoring changes to the anti-corruption laws. This led to the start of the new Toshakhana case proceedings last week.
