In his plea, Mr. Khan said that jail officials are preventing him from seeing his trusted medical team and voiced concerns about his health, especially considering his advanced age.
The 72-year-old former prime minister claimed that because of his advanced age and past medical issues, he needed specialized treatment.
His legal team emphasized the value of continuity in his care, pointing out that his personal physicians, Drs. Asim Yusuf, Faisal Sultan, and Samina Niazi, are familiar with his medical background.
The petition also supports the need for routine check-ups by citing an event dated October 15, 2014, in which Dr. Asim was similarly refused entrance.
