Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), may be freed if he apologizes fully for the May 9, 2023, riots that resulted in the destruction of military installations throughout the nation following his arrest in a graft case, according to Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah.
Both the present government and the previous Pakistan Development Movement (PDM) government have blamed the riots on PTI, a claim the former ruling party strongly contests.
Speaking on News’ “Jirga” show, which will air tonight, Sanaullah claimed that Khan had forced the nation into a political impasse because he thought his acts would spark a revolution.
