ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, the founders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), have appealed their conviction in the £190 million case before the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
In a highly anticipated decision earlier this month, an accountability court in Islamabad found the former prime minister and the former first lady guilty in the £190 million case.
Accountability Judge Nasir Javed Rana dealt a serious blow to the already imprisoned politician by giving the PTI founder a 14-year term and his wife a seven-year sentence, along with hefty fines.
The lawsuit, often referred to as the Al-Qadir Trust case, concerned claims that Imran and a few others altered Rs 50 billion, or £190 million at the time, that was sent by the British National Crime Agency (NCA) in 2019.
