PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: According to sources who spoke to News on Tuesday, Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), censured Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for alleged corruption, just days after choosing a new party president for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the sources, Khan chastised CM Gandapur for the accusations of corruption and subpar performance in KP during their meeting at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi. He also cautioned him against receiving any more complaints of this nature.
The event coincides with a significant party-level shift in KP, where CM Gandapur was replaced as PTI’s province president by Junaid Akbar.
The nomination of Akbar, who is also the head of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), is significant because he and senior lawmaker Atif Khan had backed the resignation of former KP minister Shakeel Ahmad Khan.
