Imran Khan, the jailed founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has threatened to start a “civil disobedience” movement if his demands—which include a court investigation into the crackdown on party supporters—are not fulfilled in the wake of the apparent failure of the “do-or-die” protest.
Omar Ayub Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Salman Akram Raja, and Asad Qaiser are the five members of the negotiation committee that Imran, who has claimed to have a “trump card,” declared on X (previously Twitter).
The release of “political prisoners” awaiting prosecution and the creation of a judicial panel to look into the events of May 9, 2023, and the late-night crackdown on PTI demonstrators on November 26 are the two issues he stated the committee would discuss with the federal government.
