RAWALPINDI: PTI founder Imran Khan on Saturday demanded a meeting with his party’s negotiation committee ahead of the next session of negotiations slated for January 28 amid uncertainty surrounding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s decision to halt the dialogue process with the government.
According to sources who spoke to News, the imprisoned former prime minister stated that the final position on the discussions would be provided following a meeting with party officials at the Adiala Prison in Rawalpindi.
The embattled former ruling party has made conflicting comments about the continuing negotiations. A day earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that ongoing talks were placed on pause, which was different from the party’s earlier pronouncement that they would be cancelled.
The bargaining process was “called off” by the Imran-founded party because of “non-cooperation.”
