LONDON: Imran Khan, the former prime leader of Pakistan, is not among the contenders Oxford University has listed to fill the role of chancellor.
According to a university insider who spoke with Geo News, just 38 out of the 40 applicants were accepted. The candidates were disqualified solely based on the university’s exclusion standards. In this election, 26,000 people have registered to vote. Khan’s conviction and political participation are among the many reasons he is not eligible to run in the election.
Lord William Hague, Lady Elish Angiolini, Lord Peter Mandelson, Khan, Dr. Margaret Casely-Hayford, and Dominic Grieve were the well-known candidates seeking to become the next Chancellor; of the five, only Khan has been eliminated.
