In two cases related to the vandalism on May 9, Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was declared not guilty on Wednesday.
Judicial Magistrate Sahib Bilal, who accepted the former prime minister’s appeal contesting the cases, issued the acquittal orders.
The federal capital’s Khanna Police Station is where the cases against Khan were lodged.
The court granted Khan’s acquittal request because there was not enough evidence to support the cases against him.
The PTI founder was the subject of lawsuits in 2022 for violating Article 144 and organizing a long march.
at the cases pertaining to the violence that followed his detention on May 9, Khan, who is still detained at Adiala jail, and a number of other people, including some PTI officials, are being accused of various crimes.
