ISLAMABAD Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has questioned the ruling coalition’s strategy of portraying the neighboring country as an adversary in light of the government’s hints of cross-border operations into Afghanistan.
“Why are they attempting to portray Afghanistan as our enemy when it is not? Speaking to the reporters outside of Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail, Aleema Khan quoted her brother when she asked, “[…] Why are you trying to trigger a war with Muslim brothers?” The News reported.
Khan’s alleged comments were made during an in-camera Parliamentary Committee on National Security meeting of the nation’s military and civil leadership, which was held in response to an increase in terrorism in the nation, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
