In the £190 million reference case, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s request for an acquittal was denied by the Accountability Court of Rawalpindi.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Accountability Court delivered the eagerly awaited ruling during the hearing at Adiala Jail.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigating officer will be cross-examined by the defense attorneys in the upcoming hearing, which is set for tomorrow, the court ordered during the proceedings.
The matter is key to the current investigations into the PTI founder and concerns the embezzlement of £190 million. The fact that the judge turned down the plea of acquittal indicates that the case will go on.
Furthermore, Bushra Bibi’s bail application, which has been appended to the PTI founder’s case, is still pending.
