PESHAWAR: On the orders of its imprisoned founder Imran Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will organize a public rally in Swabi on February 8, according to Junaid Akbar, the party’s president for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Today is the first anniversary of the most recent general elections, which the party claims were manipulated and that its mandate was stolen as a result.
Akbar recently took over as the party’s province president, succeeding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. “A public rally will be held in Swabi on February 8 on the PTI founder’s call,” Akbar said in a statement.
This development coincides with the previous ruling party’s request for authorization to host a public event in Peshawar on February 8, which it claims will be a “Black Day.”
