43,000 seasonal worker visas for the horticultural industry and 2,000 for poultry will be made available in the following year, according to confirmation from the British government.
The government’s statement about the 2025 seasonal worker visa allotment was warmly received by the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), which emphasized the need for a long-term visa program to maintain stability in the agriculture sector.
This ruling comes after the NFU’s sustained battle, which lasted for months or even years during their time in opposition, to support the vital role that seasonal workers play in the UK farming industry.
The Conservative government extended the seasonal worker program until the end of 2024 earlier this year.
