Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan, and PTI founder Zulfi Bukhari are all co-accused in a NAB reference; an accountability court has ordered that Bukhari’s property be seized.
On September 9, Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Accountability Court rendered the verdict in response to a request from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The accountability court designated Zulfi Bukhari an absconder on January 6 due to his frequent failure to appear in court. After hearing arguments and examining documents, the court came to the conclusion that Bukhari had lied about being a principal co-accused in the corruption reference on purpose in order to evade prosecution.
Bukhari had been purposefully avoiding court proceedings and consistently missing appearances, therefore the NAB special prosecutor had filed a petition asking the court to issue orders for the confiscation of his property.
