KARACHI: Although planes, especially big passenger jetliners, are designed to fly through the air, the odd choice to drive one from Karachi to Hyderabad is likely to be compared to the recent journey of three Boeing 777s across Saudi Arabia’s deserts.
According to insiders who spoke to Geo News, a grounded jet is being driven from one location to another on Thursday for the first time in the nation’s history.
The trip will take significantly longer because Hyderabad is more than 150 kilometers away from Karachi, which is normally a 2.5-hour drive at normal speeds.
“The fuselage of the Boeing 737 is being transported using a special truck and a trolley, while its wings and tail will be moved separately,” sources told the news channel.
