NEW DELHI: After months of disagreement over how the nation should provide them with spectrum, Elon Musk’s SpaceX and Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio unexpectedly agreed to deliver Starlink satellite internet services to India.
The biggest telecom provider in India will carry Starlink equipment in its retail locations, providing Starlink with a direct distribution channel in thousands of these establishments nationwide.
After a fierce battle between Musk and Ambani over the distribution of airwaves for satellite internet, New Delhi ultimately supported the strategy the US entrepreneur had pushed for.
Reliance, owned by Ambani, had been worried that Musk would take over the telecom market if he introduces his goods.
