Rebecca Joynes, 30, was placed on bail and suspended from her high school after it was alleged that she had intercourse with Boy A, 15, and stole the virginity of another adolescent, 16, by whom she later became pregnant.
Joynes has entered a not guilty plea to six counts of sexual conduct with two juveniles, including two counts of engaging in sexual behavior while serving as a teacher in a position of trust. Joynes denies any sexual activity occurred.
The adolescents cannot be recognized, and she is on trial at Manchester Crown Court.
Prosecutor Joe Allman asked Joynes at the start of his cross-examination if she was attempting to win over the jurors with her pink baby hat tucked into the top of her pants.
“Not at all. Not at all,” the 30-year-old retorted. “I sleep with this every night.”
