News, citing local sources, claimed that late Wednesday, wildfires broke out in the Sulaiman Range woods close to Dera Ismail Khan.
According to the reports, the fire has spread to several areas, endangering the area’s valuable vegetation. They also said that flames are seen at four separate points along the base of the mountain.
A Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department official earlier this year acknowledged that 249 fires damaged around 1,918 hectares of forest area in the province during the first half of the previous year.
He claimed that among other things, carelessness, unintentional sparks, and natural elements like lightning were to blame for the fires that were reported on both public and private facilities.
The village of DI Khan is where the most recent fire occurred.
