The al-Kahloot family was forced to flee their home due to Israeli airstrikes, but they are now living in memory in Gaza under a big tent erected over the debris of their destroyed house.
We are residing in this tent since it serves as our home and place. After her son was killed earlier in the Hamas-Israel conflict, Umm Nael al-Kahloot remarked, “It’s our house, we can’t abandon it, it has our dreams and memories.”
“This house holds happy memories for us. I’m working to ease our sorrow and locate a temporary residence.” Even in the event of severe Israeli strikes, we would only be gone from our home for a day or two before returning.
