Karachi: According to hospital data, the city saw over 10,000 dog bite cases in January and February 2025, which is a considerable rise over the same time last year.
The head of Civil Hospital Karachi’s rabies clinic, Dr. Romana Farhat, stated that 5,795 cases were reported there in the first two months of 2025, up from 3,269 instances in the same time frame in 2024.
She further emphasized that over 100 instances are recorded every day.
In addition, Dr. Romana Farhat reports that 13 cat bite cases were documented at Civil Hospital in February.
