In an attempt to prevent any unfortunate incident on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the day of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birth, the Sindh government on Thursday banned pillion riding in Karachi and other cities for five days, effective immediately.
In honor of Chup Tazia and Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the Home Department announced in a notification that the prohibition will stand until September 17.
According to the statement, the restriction would also apply to Hyderabad, Larkana, and Sukkur in addition to Karachi.
The chief of Sindh police recommended the ban in order to preserve law and order and prevent any untoward incidents during the 12th Rabiul Awwal festivities and Chup Tazia processions.
