UPPER DIR: A large avalanche struck a house in the Upper Dir area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least 12 members of the same family, including nine youngsters.
The police report states that the terrible incident happened early on Friday morning in the Upper Dir Maidan area.
The 12 bodies, according to law enforcement, have all been pulled from the rubble and taken to the hospital for the necessary medical and legal procedures.
The event claimed the lives of “two women, one man, and nine children,” according to the officials.
President Asif Ali Zardari sent his condolences to the deceased’s family.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor, apologized for the event and said he was very pained by the loss of 12.
