In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram region, unidentified gunmen blasted gunshots at passenger vans headed for Peshawar on Thursday, killing at least 38 people, including women, according to officials. From Parachinar came the vehicle.
“The terrorists in the Kurram district targeted two distinct convoys of Shia people,” senior administration official Javedullah Mehsud told AFP.
He revised a previous toll, saying, “The death toll has now risen to 38, with 11 others injured in both attacks.”
“The victims include six women, multiple children, and police officers, according to preliminary reports,” he continued.
“In both incidents, there were about ten attackers who fired randomly from both sides of the road.”
