Price increases of Rs. 20 for a 20-kg flour bag and Rs. 10 for a 10-kg bag have been announced by flour mills.
Five significant mills, according to dealers, are the ones responsible for this price increase. The mills blame the rise on the growing price of wheat.
Pakistan is becoming more and more dependent on wheat imports due to a lack of wheat grown there.
The country’s already stretched financial resources have been further burdened by the rising expenditure on wheat imports; as a result, the country’s foreign exchange reserves are steadily decreasing despite significant increases in imports and falling exports.
