Eight of the 17 civilian employees who were kidnapped at gunpoint by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat area on Thursday have been freed by security forces, according to sources who spoke to News.
According to sources, terrorists attacked a car carrying defenseless citizens, captured them, burnt the car on fire, and then ran away with the hostages.
Eight of the kidnapped citizens were retrieved by the security forces in a cooperative operation with law enforcement agencies (LEAs), according to sources, and the remaining hostages were being rescued.
Security personnel were committed to bringing those responsible for this “ruthless act” to account, according to the sources. “Such actions of Fitna al-Khawarij against Pakistan and the people have nothing to do with religion and Islamic values,” they stated.
