The ‘Accelerate Prosperity’ in Central and South Asia (AP Asia) project, which was funded by the European Union (EU) and carried out by Accelerate Prosperity (AP) through the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), has transformed businesses and lives in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan through more than four years of hard work.
Over 2,800 entrepreneurs have benefited from this ground-breaking program, which has helped 1,904 enterprises, 29% of which are led by women and 41% by young people.
Between 2020 and 2024, the supported firms contributed to the creation of 4,746 full-time equivalent employment, of which 38% were held by women and 48% by young people. The project has significantly improved fair economic prospects for women and young people in the four countries’ rural and urban areas.
