Pakistan’s gold prices plummeted on Wednesday as a result of a decline in global prices. The price of gold per tola on the local market dropped by Rs3,000, to Rs271,700.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the cost of 10 grams of gold has also decreased by Rs2,572, selling for Rs232,939 today.
The price of gold fell by Rs 1,000 on Tuesday, ending at Rs 274,700.
On Wednesday, the price of gold decreased internationally as well. It was priced at $2,617 per ounce (with a $20 premium), $30 less than the day before, according to the APGJSA.
The price of silver per tola stayed at Rs 3,050.
In Pakistan, the price of gold hit an all-time high of Rs277,000 a tola last month.
