ISLAMABAD The federal cabinet voted to impose governor’s rule in the province after accusing the administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of using “state machinery to attack the Centre” during the PTI rallies, according to sources who spoke to Geo News.
The PTI’s demonstrations for the release of its imprisoned former premier Khan and the independence of the frontline judiciary were spearheaded by the KP chief executive. These protests caused chaos in the federal capital and surrounding cities, and the ruling coalition criticized the alleged use of state machinery.
During the federal cabinet meeting, Federal Minister Amir Muqam made a recommendation supported by a “majority of members” calling for strong action against the PTI.
