PESHAWAR: On Saturday, Adeel Shah, the Special Secretary for Health in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, requested access to the records of every car the health department has bought over the previous 23 years.
This came about as a result of allegations made about anomalies in the health department’s vehicle acquisition and utilization.
Shah requested the specifics of all vehicles bought since January 2001 in a letter addressed to the province’s heads of government, project directors, and the director general of health services.
The relevant authorities have been questioned about the cars’ purchase location, manufacturer and type, information about the officers’ personal automobiles, and whether or not they are authorized to drive them.
