At the Academy of Country Music Awards rehearsals, the 47-year-old country music artist spoke with News on what it means to him to be an American citizen.
“I think being American to me just means freedom,” Aldean stated. “The best country in the world is where we live.
“I mean, there’s a reason why everyone else wants to come here and wants to be here,” he went on. The reason for this is that they lack what we have. Therefore, despite the fact that it occasionally goes a bit awry and is difficult to discern, I’m still incredibly proud of that and of our nation.”
However, I believe that we live in the greatest nation on earth,” Aldean continued. We have the opportunity to leave and yet live the American dream, after all. You have the ability to start from nothing, create something, and transform your life and the lives of your family members.
And it’s kind of cool because I believe we still have the capacity to do that in this nation.
