Jake Gyllenhaal is aware that his performance in the reimagining of Patrick Swayze’s classic “Road House” leaves him with a significant legacy to live up to.
The actor discussed with News how he and the film pay tribute to the late hero. He portrays an ex-UFC fighter named Dalton who works as a bouncer, just like Swayze’s character did in the original.
“Well, I did my best to try. “I tried to carry him with me, even though I obviously couldn’t do the same amazing things he does in the original movie,” Gyllenhaal remarked. “My character is covered in several tattoos. And simply to keep myself reminded, I had a lot of various tattoos that I wore in his honor.
“Those aren’t authentic tattoos. Thus, we wear them each day. And each time we played them, it kind of just brought back memories of him, his generosity, and my appreciation that I couldn’t have done the movie without him having done the first one.
