According to a police spokesman, five militants stormed the Iqbal Shaheed Police Lines soon after Head Constable Shaista Khan’s funeral prayer. Khan was killed in a gun attack in Bakkakhel earlier in the day.
At the cop’s final rituals, local elders and police officers attended the martyred officer.
According to the officer, five terrorists attacked police lines around two hours after the funeral prayer concluded. They were carrying hand grenades, rocket launchers, and sophisticated weapons.
According to him, the assailants arrived at the police lines on a motorbike and a loading rickshaw, dressed in traditional burqas and suicide vests, and they started shooting at the officers at the main gate.
The militants were trapped in a hotel while the police put up a strong fight against them.
